"At the end of 2001 I was talking with my girlfriend, Emily, about a challenge that we could take up in 2002. We thought of a number of things including the Army's 'Ten Tors' Competition. This includes walking either 35 miles, 45 miles or 55 miles depending on age. It is a major challenge, but it's over in a single weekend.

"But what about the rest of the year? Well, 'why stop at just ten tors' I thought? Let's do them all! In fact, 'why not do every hill and tor on Dartmoor' in 2002!! Here's how we got on ..."
